Games of Thrones Season 7 is over.
And, we all will have to wait till 2019 for the last season to know who sits on the throne.
If the world seems bleak and purposeless to you, here is a ray of hope for you. Narcos Season 3 is launching today on Netflix.
In season 2, we saw the downfall of the drug lord Pablo Escobar after DEA chased him for two good seasons. While many of us anticipated that it was the end of the drama documentary, the show ended on a note of Cali Cartel rising to the power. Escobar may be dead, but the dirty business of drugs isn’t yet over in Colombia.
The new season is packed with all new action, drama, and some new characters. While Steve Murphy went back to the USA after killing Escobar on the roofs of Medellin, we will see Agent Pena coming back in the action busting the richest drug traffickers you’ve probably never heard of.
Cali Cartel functioned differently from brazen, cut-throat, amoral Escobar. Led by four powerful godfathers, this cartel covertly operated its dirty business by bribing government officials and keeping its violent actions out of headlines.
Sure, Wagner Moura’s Escobar and Boyd Holbrook’s Steve Murphy will be missed. Nevertheless, busting this new cartel would be a fun to watch. Here is the trailer:
Here’s what you should know about Cali Cartel before you begin the new season:
-Cali Cartel was founded in 1970’s by Gilberto José Rodríguez Orejuela.
-The cartel supplied Marijuana but didn’t make enough business selling it. That is when they shifted to more lucrative drugs like heroin and cocaine.
-They supplied 80% of US’s cocaine and 90% of Europe at its peak.
-The police captured Orejuela in 1995, found hidden in a bathroom with an oxygen tank.
-The reign of Cali Cocaine Cartel came to a definite end in 2006 with all parties pleading guilty, landing them each a 30-year sentence in federal prison.
